Physiology-related entry

This past month, I've learned many muscles such as: deltoid, brachials, etc. Also, I've learned their nerves as well. Most of the muscles have radial nerve. I also learned the names of the muscles that are in our leg and thigh. Along with that, I also learned the Anterior + Posterior Muscle Man, which we will be tested on ... Monday + Wednesday. Oh boy, I can't wai.t = . =''

Muscle Injury that I had

A muscle injury that I once got was during Badminton practices. We were doing warm-ups, such as: practice games. When it was my turn, I was practically struggling to get the birdy. Eventually, I twisted my ankle real badly and pulled the muscle of my ankle. It hurt very much that I told my coach and he told me to sit down. Also, he told me to tie my shoelaces very tight and lay it down. It took approximately like 20 minutes to get better, but it didn't heal completely. It took like 1 or 2 days to completely return back to normal.

What I Learned about my Bone Disease

Some facts that I learned/fascinated about the bone disease, Osteoporosis, is that: 1. This disease is the most common in women after the menopause. 2. There are no specific symptom . . it's main consequence is being at high risk of bone fractures. 3. Bisphosphonate drugs are prescribed for people who have osteoporosis. 4. Tobaccon smoking is usually why people get his bone disease. 5. Colles is the 3rd most common type of osteoporotic fractures. 6. Also, alcoholism is another reason why some people get this disease.

What I Learned from Ch. 4

I learned that are bones are more complex than what they look/seem. Also, I learned the primary functions of bones. I also learned how effective it is to ice an injury before it swells up. I learned that why it is bad to crack our knuckles, neck, shoulders, etc. The reason is because if we do it all the time, it builds up, and then it'd eventually burst . . . like a bubble. That's what I learned in class, which is not mentioned in the book. I learned many new workouts that would be interesting to try out as well. For example: squats, Overhead Press, Lateral Deltoid Lift, Rotator-Cuff Rotation, etc. I also learned that when we are doing sit-ups, it's not a wise idea to ask someone to hold your feet for you while you're doing it.. Also, that we should not bend all the way down, while doing lunges, because it's not as helpful as it's said by coaches/P.E. teachers.

Bones need more care as we age

Bones need more care as we age, because they are no longer as structured and ''well-developed'' as they were when we were young. As we grow older and even children . . . it is highly recommended that we drink milk The reason for that is because if we develop strong and durable bones now, we might be at a lower risk of hurting our bones later on as we grow older. Needless to say, as we grow older, our bones become more and more fragile and that's why we should take real good care of them as we age. Well . . . unless you REALLY want to break a bone or something, then the whole point of this blog is pretty pointless and meaningless . . . but most people don't want to break a bone, so this blog are for all those who actually care about their bones as they age. Enjoy Enjoy !!

Why bones are important to our body

Bones are important to our body, because they help us move and be able to lift up things. If we all didn't have bones, we'd all be like jelly and just so so weak. Also, bones can protect our internal organs . . . for example, like the skull protecting the brain. Also, bones are important, because without them, we won't even be able to hear. Bones also produces blood for us in our body. They also keep our entire body "in structure".

Reason(s) for taking Physiology

Why am I taking this class? Truthfully, I don't have a reason, really. I guess if you really wanted a BETTER answer from me . . . I guess I do have a few so-called "reasons" for taking this class. The reasons include :: - To learn how to go on a healthy diet. - To dissect things . . . not really. XDD" - I don't want to take Physics / Earth Science, since I took Biology + Chemistry already. I don't wish to pursue a career PHYSIOLOGY / Science-related in the future. The reason being is because I never liked and never will like Science, which is why it is 1 of my worst subjects. Anyways, I hope to be a flight attendant one day . . . that is, unless I change my mind. XDD""

About Me

My name is Christy Cheung. I was born in Hong Kong and I came to the States when I was only 2 years old. I am at the age of 15.5 and am currently a Junior at Alhambra High. Anyways, I enjoy playing the piano, having fun, doodling, etc. My favorite foods are green tea ice-cream, sushi, cheesecake, mochi, and some other stuff. One day, I wish to go back to Hong Kong and also to some foreign countries, such as: France, Australia, South Korea, Japan, Italy, etc. Basically, I'm a girl that enjoys having a good time and always tries to think positive no matter what the situation is. Sometimes it's difficult for me to think positive, because I am a very emotional person. I can cry for like absolutely no reason. Anyhow, that's all about me . . . I hoped you enjoyed reading everything about me, now what's there to know about you? [:
